Arugam Bay

Arugam Bay is a bay situated on the Indian Ocean in the southeastern Sri Lanka. The bay is famous for surfing — the main point (called “Main Point” or “A-Bay Main”) is considered one of the top-10 surf spots in the world. The surf season runs from May to September. Beyond surfing, nearby attractions include Kumana National Park (an extension of Yala), Lahugala Elephant Reserve, and Pottuvil Lagoon.
