Overview
Little Adam’s Peak is Ella’s most popular and accessible viewpoint — a moderate 45-minute hike through tea estates to a series of rocky outcrops above the town that offer outstanding views over the surrounding landscape of hills, valleys, and the distant Ella Gap. The peak takes its name from a superficial resemblance to the sacred Adam’s Peak in the Central Highlands, though it requires a fraction of the effort. The trail begins near the 98 Acres Resort and winds through manicured rows of tea bushes before climbing to the rounded hilltop where multiple rocky viewing platforms provide different angles on the Ella landscape. The hike is suitable for virtually all fitness levels and is a standard activity for almost every visitor to Ella, yet the views remain consistently impressive and the experience of walking through active tea estate with the highland air and birdsong of the Uva Province is genuinely pleasant.
