Passikudah is a bay and small town on the eastern coast of Sri Lanka in Batticaloa District. It is known for its very shallow, calm, warm lagoon-like bay with pristine white sand. The bay is so shallow that you can walk far out to sea, making it ideal for families with children. Kalkudah Beach, just north, is equally beautiful. The area received significant development after the end of the civil conflict in 2009.
