Unawatuna

Unawatuna is a coastal town in southern Sri Lanka, a few kilometres from Galle. It is known for its horseshoe-shaped bay with calm, clear waters — ideal for swimming and snorkelling. The area is protected from strong waves by a reef, making it safe for families. Jungle Beach, a short walk away, is a more secluded option. Rumassala Hill, believed to be where Hanuman dropped part of the Sanjeevani herb mountain in the Ramayana, overlooks the bay.
